Starting in 2025, GFL Environmental is the town’s service provider for garbage and recycle pickup.
Some residents may have already seen the new GFL bins delivered. Do not place the new bins out for pickup until the first of the 2025 year scheduled pickup. Continue to use the Waste Management bins until the last day of pickup in 2024 which is scheduled for Friday, December 27th; there is a one-day delay in this week due to the holidays.
After the December 27th Waste Management pickup date, leave the Waste Management bins by or near the road. Waste Management will retrieve and take away the Waste Management bins. There is not an exact date as to when WM will pick up the bins, but it is likely shortly after December 27th.
Please refer to GFL’s new service pickup schedule attached to one of the bins when delivered. Depending on your address, it will either be Monday or Tuesday beginning of the week of January 6th.
Plan accordingly that there will be no service pickup during the week between December 30th and January 3rd due to the change in service provider and pickup date changes.
When GFL takes over, continue to place the bins at the location that you used in the past, especially noted for those on private drives or where the turn-around on a dead-end road is not feasible that all bins are designated to be placed on one-side of the road.
In the past, residents were told to contact the clerk with issues whether it is about service or broken bins. Going forward, please contact GFL directly. Their phone number is listed in the brochure attached to a bin delivered. Residents will find an improvement in the customer service from GFL.

Weekly garbage service is on Mondays, if your address is within the blue area on the map (the West side of Jackson St. in the town).
Weekly garbage service is on Tuesday, if your address is within the green area on the map (the East side of Jackson St. in the town).
