On March 24, 2025, the Town of Oshkosh board adopted a Short-Term Rental Ordinance effective April 1, 2025.
The Town Ordinance does allow property owners to rent their primary residence as a Short-Term Rental with a license. Usually, it is rented through popular marketplaces like AirBnB or VRBO. If it is more than 10 days in a year, a Short-Term Rental License is required.
No license is required if a home is rented for 10 days or less in a year. If you rent your primary residence home, for example, only for and during the EAA event, that would likely fit the 10 days or less, no license is required.
There is an exception for those who have rented and operated a Short-Term Rental before April 1, 2025, and is not the primary residence/home of the property owner. With a Short-Term Rental License from the Town, they may continue to operate.
The deadline for applying for a license is May 15, 2025 for property owners who Short-Term Rent and it is not their primary residence. An extension may be allowed for certain circumstances.
The application form and more information are posted on the Town’s website page.
